Description

Join the Student Conservation Association (SCA) to help restore White Oak Bayou as part of our Hurricane Harvey Recovery!

White Oak Parkway is a public park that is located off of the White Oak Bayou that is an offshoot of the Buffalo Bayou. It is close to the heart of downtown Houston at the intersection of I-45 and I-10. Sadly, White Oak Parkway was significantly affected by Harvey. The water reached a level so high that the trees planted within recent years by the SCA were completely lost. There are massive amounts of litter in the park brought in by the floodwaters and the greenspace was left trampled by Hurricane's waters.

Volunteers in partnership with the Houston Parks and Recreation Department will help bring the park back to its beautiful natural state. Teams will help with litter and debris removal, invasive plant removal, habitat restoration and plantings.
